It has been too long since I've actually posted anything on this blog. Right now, I'm in the process of re-vamping my logo, website AND blog. Therefore, you will slowly start to see changes in all 3. I figure its time to do a better job updateding and showcasing these beautiful people that I've been photographing.

However, I have updated my facebook fan page. So, if you are on facebook, find my page "Ryan Cook Photography" and you will be able to view my most recent work. Wedding season is now in full swing, so it should be updated frequently.

Janelle & Josiah's Wedding Day

Take pictures, edit, watch Gavin, edit, hang out with Sara & Gavin, edit, take more pictures... the cycle goes on and on right now! It is one CRAZY wedding season! BUT, I'm loving the pictures that I'm getting. The couples that I get to photograph make my job easy (as you can see from the picture above).

Janelle & Josiah were married July 25 (time has flown!) at their parents residence in Zionsville, IN. The weather looked a little wet for most of the morning, but as the afternoon arrived, the sun made its appearance for this beautiful wedding! I knew this would be a great wedding to shoot! I hope you enjoy the photos of this couple that is truly in LOVE!

Kaden is a lively TWO year old who is actually the son of a friend that I've known for 15 years? Woah, its been a long time since the 8th grade! This little guy is full of personality (if you can't tell by the first picture) and the three of them were great to shoot! We started at their house and finished at the IMA. I'm thankful that my friends trust me enough to shoot their children and I'm glad that I get too, as they are fun and adorable children (this makes my job easy)!

If you remember, last fall I took engagement photos of Clara & Matt at IU in Bloomington. Well, the year flew by and these two tied the knot of July 18, 2009. The ceremony was at Roberts Park Church in Downtown Indianapolis and their reception was at the Columbia Club on the circle, which is a perfect location for the outdoor wedding photos! These two looked great in ALL of their photos and it was a blast shooting their wedding! Maddox just turned one and is full of personality! He was a blast to be around and really enjoyed the camera (something you can't find in many one year olds). After a rain delay the first time we set an appointment for Kristin and Mark's e-session, we finally were able to take a few photos on our second try. Actually, it was pouring during the entire photoshoot, so we headed inside the IUPUI Student Center to capture some indoor shots. We are re-scheduling the outdoor shoot for another time. Isn't there a saying "third times a charm?" These two were all laughs despite the weather and I'm looking forward to completing their outdoor photos and also their wedding which will take place May of 2010. Great job you two!

Finally, I've been able to take some time and post a few pictures from Renee & Adam's wedding. It has been a crazy busy wedding season and I'm constantly editing photos (or taking them). Their wedding was at a VERY cool church with a VERY unique look. The reception was at the Indiana State Musuem. Talk about two PERFECT locations for AWESOME pictures (as you can tell with all the CAPS, I really like their photos!)

It's time for another round of photos of my son, Gavin. He is growing like crazy (along with a tooth) so I had to get another photoshoot in pre-teeth. We took these at the IMA in Indianapolis, which is always an awesome location for photos. Though, with Gavin moving around like crazy, its pretty hard to get him to focus long enough for photos. Justin & Angel were married June 6 in Trafalgar at Appleworks. This was an awesome location to have the ceremony & reception. Both Justin & Angel met at Franklin College, which seems like a common trend these days. There were quite a few married couples there that went to Franklin. Adam & Tamara were married on May 30, 2009. The sky was a perfect blue color for outdoor photos! It was a great wedding to photograph and the bridal party did an excellent job taking photos at the church AND at the reception location. Diesel is a 1 and a 1/2 year old boy who is not shy in front of the camera. This is a photographers dream, so I really enjoyed shooting this little boy. The Indianapolis International Airport is a great indoor location for a photoshoot. Not only is there a ton of natural light, but there are a lot of cool pieces of art that can be used in the photographs!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of taking maternity photos for Lacy. Well, on May 19, Lacy gave birth to Ivy. Amazingly, she was wide awake for most of the shoot and would follow the noise of the camera. Therefore, she did a great job looking at the camera when I needed her too! Tis' the season for babies! At least that's what it seems like with all of these materinity shoots! A close college friend, Danielle, and her husband Todd are expecting their first child. Plainfield park was a busy place for photoshoots as we were not the only one's out enjoying the perfect weather for pictures. My wife and I are looking forward to having another boy for our son, Gavin, to play with! These two (plus the dog) did a great job for these photos!

The Whiteley's were one of the first fnewborns that I took pictures of. If you can remember, Eliana was just a couple days old when that happened (here is the link to her first photos). I have known Liz for well over ten years (we went to High School together) and she asked me to take engagement photos for her and her fiance. Their wedding is coming up in July and I'll actually get to go to a wedding rather than photograph (this will be a nice change!!!) 1 year old Anthony celebrated his birthday last week. What a better way to celebrate your first birthday than with a photoshoot! Anthony was all smiles throughout the entirety of the shoot and even continued smiling when the camera was away, he was one happy little guy. I was able to get some great shots of him and his family and I won't hold it against him since his father went to Hanover and they are also big Louisville fans (I don't have anything against Louisville). Great job guys!

We were pretty excited when the snow came and stayed on the ground for this engagement shoot with Renee & Adam. I think photoshoots in the snow might be my favorite, besides the cold temperature. The IMA of course looks awesome in the snow too! This past Thursday, when it was FREEZING COLD outside, Gavin and I headed to friends of ours to take photos of their son, Eli, who just turned 4! While I was there, I thought it would also be fun to take photos of his younger brother, Ben, as well as the two of them together. Gavin - 3 months

Gavin is now 3 1/2 months old, but these were taken earlier this month. It has been a pretty crazy time right now in my personal life and professional life. My wife has gone back to work and I now stay at home with my son while continuing my photography business. Let's just say I'm a little behind at posting images. This is the first of four post that I will have on here within (hopefully) the next week. Between entertaining my son, changing diapers, emailing/scheduling wedding/engagement shoots, I will surely have a few minutes to upload photos. Though its been busy, I really cannot complain. I was hoping for some snow on the ground for this photoshoot with the Petrocelli's, but unfortunately it had all melted by then. Though no snow, we were still able to get outdoors and get additional photos inside of the two boys and their parents. Well, I've finally been able to purchase and finish my own website. I usually only use this blog as a way for future clients and visitors to see my work. The web address is: www.ryancookphotography.com (hopefully that's easy for everyone to remember). This new website is great. There are quite a few pictures on there with all of them separated into their very own galleries. There is also a spot where clients can have their own private gallery and all their family members and friends can see the proofs as well...AND a shopping cart in which you can place your order. This should make everything MUCH EASIER! I'm really excited to have the website finally up and running (well, there's a few more things that I need to do to it). It's crazy to think, but our son is now TWO months old. It has been an awesome and some of the best times of our lives watching this little guy grow up. Today, we spent the day at home and just enjoyed being around each other. I also got the chance to take some more photos of him. These are Gavin's Christmas photos and he did a great job. The nice thing about taking pictures of your own child, is all they want to do is look at you, so there was no problem getting him to focus. I sure hope it stays this way! Enjoy the photos!

These two really knew how to make each other laugh which brought out some geniunes smiles and laughs that were easy to capture. The Withem family is one that I've known since going to college (8 years altogether). They have grown in those 8 years with two marriages and 2 new children. Here are a few pictures from their photo session this past weekend. I've learned some new photoshop techniques that add a little more "glow" to a few of the pictures. If you remember, this past Saturday was cold, rainy and basically one of the worst possible days for pictures. After some major researching for inside photo destinations, I came across IUPUI's new campus center. There is a TON of natural light in this very modern decorated hang out for college kids (I almost wish I went to school there). This was the perfect spot for pictures with Benjamin, who is the child of a friend from high school. The three of them were visiting from Chicago and also brough Grandma and Grandpa along! These are some of my favorite!

That's right, its pretty hard to believe that Noah is TWO YEARS OLD! Time has really gone by fast, but this kid enjoys having his picture taken...even if its 40 degrees outside. He also is a big fan of his tractor and overalls. Noah did a great job!

I also included a few pictures of "the Cousins." Noah finally has a younger cousin to play with, Gavin. We wanted to get a few pictures of the two together, so I hope you enjoy these as well!

It was a little cold out, but when you are taking pictures of a senior guy, they like to get through the shoot quick, so it was a breeze shooting him!

Definitely was a little flustered when I finally arrived to the ball park for this photo shoot. On September 27, Brad and Lori tied the knot in Zionsville. It was a perfect day for an outdoor reception and the location was pretty amazing. I definitely recommend Lumiere du Corps as a reception location for anyone that would like to have an outdoor reception (they also have a really neat ceremony area as well).

I finally was able to complete the photo shoots for all immediate family members. If you remember, my wife and I decided to get pictures of all of our family members and place them in frames on a shelf around the baby's room. This past week I was able to finish the shoots with my sister and also my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. I've also included a finish product of the babies room, that way you can see what I mean by the "shelf" and a few other photos from today's shoot that I really liked.

Tonight it was my family's turn for a photo shoot to get some great pictures to place in our baby's room. I was finally able, with the help of some family members and friends, to have a small little photo shoot with my wife as the birth of our first child approaches. Sara is 33 weeks pregnant and as you can see, looks awesome! We are keeping the sex of the baby a surprise, but are getting pretty anxious in knowing what it is. I hope you all enjoy these photos and just wait because this is the beginning of a never ending series of photo shoots with "baby cook."

Its also really hard to get a picture of Sara and I together when I'm the photographer and I have to keep setting up the timer, so this was the best we could do together :-)

It was a great day to be at the track and amazingly we were able to get a few pictures by the pagoda before the officials told us we had to leave ;-) Lauren did an awesome job modeling for pictures at one of her favorite places!
